Privacy policy
Draft. This page is awaiting legal review and may change.
Last updated 26 October 2026.
In short
Taxationary has no accounts and no server of its own. Your bookmarks, notes and other choices stay on your device. The website is hosted by Cloudflare, and it shows ads from Google AdSense, which use cookies. This page explains each of these.
What stays on your device
These are stored in your browser's own storage on your device, are never sent to us, and we cannot see them:
- bookmarks, their tags, and notes;
- the sections you viewed recently (the last 20);
- quiz and flashcard progress;
- your choice of light or dark mode, and text size;
- the Acts' text and pages you saved for offline use;
- for the reviewing Chartered Accountant only: review decisions.
You can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings. If you use “Export bookmarks and notes”, the file is saved where you choose; we never receive it.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. See Cloudflare's privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ ↗. We do not use any other analytics or tracking tools.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Ads are not switched on yet; this part describes them as they will be.
Taxationary is free and is paid for by ads. The ads are provided by Google. Google and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, to limit how often you see them and to measure them, and, where you allow it, to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites ↗
- You can turn off personalised ads in Google's My Ad Center: https://myadcenter.google.com/ ↗ (or, for other companies that take part, https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ ↗).
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before any personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with “Privacy choices” at the foot of every page.
- Ads are never placed inside or between the text of the Acts.
Error reports and emails
If you report an error or write to us, your email reaches us through your own email service. We receive your email address, your message and the details the report fills in (the page and section). We use them only to look into the report and reply, and we delete the email within 12 months of closing it.
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
The only personal data we ourselves receive is what you send us by email. You may ask us to access, correct or erase it, or raise a grievance, by writing to contact@taxationary.in; we will reply within 30 days. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India. Ad-related data is processed by Google under its own policies, linked above.
Children
The site is meant for professionals, students and taxpayers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly receive personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
